This picture shows an oil filter that was removed from a diesel car. It was 15000 miles over its service interval. The car was suffering from a loss of oil pressure. This was due to oil starvation, caused by carbon build up within the engine.

Luckily we were able to save the engine with the use of engine flush, consecutive oil and filter changes and the replacement of the oil pick up pipe in the sump. Had the customer of left it any longer, then the engine would have failed.
