We have a fleet of Self Drive Hire Cars and Hire Vans available for Daily, Weekend and Weekly Rental. The Hire Vehicles come Fully Insured, with AA Nationwide Breakdown cover, Parking Sensors on all Vehicles and NO mileage charge.

How much does it cost to Hire a Van or Car for a day?
There is a basic rate set for a 24 hour hire period which includes Breakdown cover, Insurance and VAT, however further discounts are available for longer hire periods.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Q - Must i pick the vehicle up at a specific time?
A - We aim to keep the vehicles going out at 8.30am in 24hr windows, however we understand that you may want to set off sooner or later in the day so we are flexible.
Q - If i book and pay for a Van, can i change the date in the event that my moving date changes?
A - YES, and there is no rebooking fee! we do ask that you give us as much notice as possible, however we do understand this date can change on the morning of a move.
Q - Can i leave my car at your site when i collect a vehicle?
A - YES you can leave your own vehicle in our yard, however it is left at your own discretion.
Q - Can i drop a vehicle back to you outside of working hours?
A - YES you can bring the vehicle back and fourth throughout the hire period, please be aware that you are held responsible for the vehicle throughout the time stated on the hire agreement.
Q - Is there a mileage limit?
A - There is NO mileage limit on any of our vehicles, NO hidden fair usage charges.
Q - What happens if the hire vehicle breaks down?
A - All vehicles come with comprehensive AA nationwide breakdown recovery, please contact us and the relevent breakdown recovery as soon as possible, Do not attempt to drive the vehicle.
Q - Can i add another driver to the hire?
A - Yes you can add one other driver at no extra charge, however we will need to see them at the time of the hire along with all the relevent paperwork.
Q - What about deposits and insurance excess?
A - There is NO deposit held by us at the time of hire. In the event of damage, the hirer will be called upon to contribute the first £1000 towards the repairs. Excess protection is an optional extra that allows the hirer to reduce the excess reasonability to £250. The Insurance reduction does NOT cover damage to Wing Mirrors, tyres, above cab height or damage sustained through contact with stationery objects for example, contact with a parked car or wall/gate post.
Q - How much is the Excess Protection?
A - The optional excess reduction is as follows, 24 hr - £12 inc vat, weekend - £18 inc vat and weekly - £30 inc vat, made payable at the time of hire.
Q - What paperwork do i need bring with me?
A - We will need to see your driving license, National Insurance number or the DRIVING LICENCE SHARE CODE along with proof of address.
Q - What about fuel?
A - We run all our vehicles from empty to empty. So we ask that you only fill up to the amount of fuel required by yourself for the period of hire.
Q - What happens if i want to cancel my booking or terminate the hire contract early?
A - If the Hire contract is cancelled within 48 hrs of the start period, then there will be a 50% cancellation fee of the total hire charge, If you are within the Agreed Hire period and wish to return the vehicle early then there will be an Early termination fee that will be 50% of the total hire charge for periods of over 24 hours, Contracts with periods of 24 hours or less will incure the full cost of the hire Charge.
Central Hire reserves the right to calculate a fee on a case-by-case basis by taking into consideration the length of the contract. All terminations of contracts will need to be in written form, either by letter or email.
